The following four worship orders are being proposed for this trial period as the Worship Task Force works on converging our two services into one.
🔶 November 3, All Saints Sunday, a blended service transitioning from liturgy to contemporary worship.
🔶 November 10, A liturgical service, Setting Ten from Evangelical Lutheran Worship. (The fully Liturgical Service order will be familiar to former 9:00 worshippers as it follows the Evangelical Lutheran Worship order of service.)
🔶 November 17, A contemporary Worship Service. (The fully Contemporary Worship order will be familiar to former 11:00 worshippers, with contemporary music led by a worship band.)
🔶 November 24, Christ the King Sunday, a blended service transitioning from Contemporary Worship to Liturgical.
The Blended Service order, starting with the Liturgy and switching to contemporary worship after the sermon, is similar to our Confirmation Service.
The other Blended Service order is new to us. It starts in Contemporary Worship and switches to the Liturgy after the sermon.
A simplified service order, similar to our summer services but adjusted for the season, is planned for all four Sundays in Advent.
Please try out each format and let the Task Force know what the experience was like for you.
All the Service Orders follow the four movements in the historic pattern of Christian Worship: Entrance, Word, Meal, Sending.
Everyone is invited to explore these and other possibilities for convergence on Saturday, November 16 with Dr. Joy Berg. Joy comes to us from Concordia University in Edmonton. The worship and music of the Church is her passion! Contact the office or one of the Task Force members for details.
The Zion Worships Together Task Force is Linda Jarock, Pat Kelly, Vel Neumann, Karen Tehse, and Diane Bestvater.
